We collect only what we need to run the current site:

• Technical logs — basic server and error logs needed to host and secure the site (for example via our hosting and monitoring providers).

We do not operate user accounts, waitlists, contact forms, or payments on this site yet. When sign-up or product accounts launch, we will update this policy.

2. How we use your data

• To operate, secure, and improve the site.

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.

3. Legal basis for processing

Under Article 6 of the UK GDPR, we rely on:

• Legitimate interests — to host, secure, and improve the site, where those interests are not overridden by your rights.
• Legal obligation — where we must retain or disclose information to comply with law.

4. Third-party data sources

The Game Archive displays game metadata sourced from third parties. This catalogue data is not your personal data, but it is part of how the site works:

• IGDB — game titles, cover images, platforms, and related metadata are sourced from IGDB (igdb.com), a Twitch service. The Game Archive is not affiliated with or endorsed by IGDB or Twitch.

5. Data storage and processors

The site is hosted on Vercel. Application infrastructure may also use Supabase. Each processes data under its own terms and privacy policy.

Infrastructure may be located in the United Kingdom, European Union, and/or United States. Where personal data is transferred outside the UK, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent mechanisms provided by our processors.

6. Data retention

Technical logs are retained for a limited period needed for security and operations.

7. Your rights

Under the UK GDPR you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict processing of, and port your personal data, as well as the right to object to certain processing. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk. We will add a direct contact route on this page when waitlist or product accounts launch.

8. Cookies

We use cookies and similar technologies only as needed to host and secure the site (for example session or infrastructure cookies from our providers). We do not use third-party advertising or tracking cookies. Strictly necessary cookies do not require consent under UK law.

9. Children

The Game Archive is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 13.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes—especially when accounts, sign-up, or paid features launch—we will update this page.
